Vancouver Guitar Maker Meredith Coloma is recognized as one of the youngest professional guitar builders internationally. She currently runs a successful business handcrafting custom guitars and teaching guitar building at her Vancouver Guitar Building Workshop.
Meredith began her career as an apprentice in New York with world renowned Roger Sadowsky whose clients are some of the biggest names in rock and jazz music (Bruce Springsteen, Keith Richards, Will Lee, Gilberto Gil, Jim Hall).
She was able to gain superior practical knowledge and skill building electric and bass guitars.
After graduating with Roger Sadowsky, Meredith returned to Vancouver to pursue another apprenticeship with master luthier Michael Dunn.
She had the opportunity to further specialize and expand her guitar-building repertoire by building a variety of acoustic instruments including gypsy guitars, acoustic guitars with and without original designs for internal sound boxes and sound ports, gypsy mandolins, ukuleles and art guitars.
Meredith has been featured in Vancouver Is Awesome Blog, guitar building magazines, newspaper articles, radio specials, and internet interviews around the world including Canada, USA, Romania, Turkey and Japan.
As a luthier Meredith aspires to use her innovative building talents to create original custom guitars that are characterized by aesthetic beauty and superior tone.
